We built what we wished existed.
We’ve towed down single-track lanes in the rain, arrived at CLs with no signal, and tried to book small UK sites that only take enquiries by email or phone.
The best places we stayed were rarely the easiest to book. Owners were answering the phone mid-mow, replying to emails at midnight and keeping the season in a paper diary. The ones who had gone online were often paying a marketplace a cut of every stay, or paying for software built for holiday parks with hundreds of pitches.
None of that was the owners’ fault. The tools just weren’t made for a field, a few hook-ups and someone who would rather be outside.
So we built PootlrHost: a website, online booking, payments and guest guides in one place, simple enough to set up yourself, and priced for sites with a handful of pitches.
