What it checks

  • A Google listing, through the Google Places API, and whether it has reviews.
  • Your website: that it loads, over HTTPS, and is built for phones.
  • Whether guests can book online, from the booking systems and “Book” links on your website.
  • Whether we can find you on UK Campsite, Pitchup, Hipcamp, CL Sites, The Caravan and Motorhome Club, The Camping and Caravanning Club, through the Brave Search API.
  • Whether Claude, an AI assistant, names you when asked about campsites near you.
  • Your phone number, email, prices and photos on your home page.

Six checks, out of 100: a Google listing (20), your website (15), online booking (20), listing and club sites (15), being named by AI assistants (15), and the basics on your website (15). A check we couldn’t do doesn’t count either way.

We match small sites by name and postcode, and that sometimes misses: a listing under a different name, say, or a website we couldn’t load. “Not found” means we couldn’t find it, not that it isn’t there.

No. Only you can see it, in the browser you ran it in. We never publish scores or compare named campsites, and we delete reports after 7 days.

AI assistants give different answers from one day to the next. We ask each question three times and count your campsite as named only if it comes up in two of them, but it’s still a snapshot of the day.

Google’s listing through the Google Places API, your own website, the listing and club sites (UK Campsite, Pitchup, Hipcamp, CL Sites, The Caravan and Motorhome Club, The Camping and Caravanning Club) through the Brave Search API, and Claude, an AI assistant. We never read Google’s search results or the listing sites themselves.
