Fire safety suppliers for UK campsites

Fire spreads quickly between tents and caravans, so every campsite needs fire points, a way to raise the alarm, and space between units. The suppliers here sell fire points, extinguishers, alarms and signs, and some service extinguishers once they're installed.

If you run a campsite in England or Wales, you're responsible for a written fire risk assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. In Scotland, the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 asks much the same. Your site licence or club certificate may set its own rules on fire points and spacing too.

Before you buy, ask:

• What do you suggest for a site of my size, and how many fire points?
• Is the kit made for outdoor use, and how is it protected from weather and theft?
• Do you service extinguishers, and how often should that happen?
• Can you help with the fire risk assessment, or recommend someone who can?
