Grading, accreditation and business support for UK campsites

List your business freeYou don't need a star rating or a certificate to open a campsite. But a grading or a sustainability award can help guests choose you, and some schemes give useful feedback from an assessor who has seen hundreds of sites.
Star grading schemes look at the quality of your pitches, facilities and welcome. Some of them also offer an entry-level check that your site is ready for visitors, which costs less than a full assessment. Sustainability schemes look at energy, water, waste and how you work with your local area.
Before you sign up, ask:
- What does it cost each year, and what does the assessment involve?
- Which kinds of site does it cover: touring pitches, tents, glamping, or all three?
- Where will my rating or award appear, and can I use the logo on my own website?
- How long does it last, and when is the next visit?
The camping clubs' certificated site schemes and the trade bodies are on the useful organisations page, as they aren't suppliers.
