PootlrHost vs CampManager: campsite booking software compared
CampManager and PootlrHost compared: published prices, contracts, Pitchup, websites and pitch maps, and when a bigger park is better off with CampManager.
Updated . CampManager’s details checked
CampManager, from Belfast, calls itself “the UK’s leading booking and park management system” for caravan parks, campsites and holiday parks, and says it has more than 800 clients. It says it’s “perfect for parks of all sizes”, and its tools for holiday-home owners, smart meters, number-plate barriers and a branded guest app suit bigger parks especially. Its website doesn’t publish prices, and its terms, dated 2018, set a 12-month contract that renews each year. PootlrHost is for small sites that want to set up themselves today, at a published price with no contract.

Where PootlrHost is the better choice
- A published price. PootlrHost is £1 a booking, or £25 a month on Pro. CampManager quotes each park.
- No contract. Leave PootlrHost whenever you like. CampManager’s terms set 12 months at a time, renewing unless you give three months’ notice.
- Set up today. Give PootlrHost your current website’s address and it reads your words, photos, pitch types and prices to start your new site, ready to check and go live.
- Pitchup by API key. Pitchup bookings come into PootlrHost with the guest’s details within a couple of minutes, and Pitchup is told straight away when a night is booked in PootlrHost. CampManager’s booking-sites page names Pitchup in its description but not among its logos, so ask it how it connects.
- A full website included, with pages for each pitch type, a gallery, how to find you and your questions.
- CL and CS sites. PootlrHost can ask guests for a Caravan and Motorhome Club or Camping and Caravanning Club number when they book, and guests can choose their pitch on a map.
What it costs
CampManager’s website doesn’t publish prices, so we can’t work them through. Its Capterra UK listing gives a starting price of US$500 a year. For the two example sites on our overview:
- A 5-pitch CL taking 150 bookings a year at £20: PootlrHost is 150 × £1 = £150 a year, or nothing if guests pay the £1 as a service fee.
- A 20-pitch campsite taking 500 bookings a year at £60: PootlrHost Pro is £25 × 12 = £300 a year (or £225 for a year paid upfront).
CampManager’s sister product for glampsites, GlampManager, does publish its prices: from £20 a month plus £2 a unit, paid yearly, plus VAT.
Moving from CampManager to PootlrHost
- Check your notice date first: CampManager’s terms ask for three months’ notice before the end of each 12-month term.
- Bring your bookings and guests across from a CSV file, using our template if you need to. You check every row before anything goes in.
- Build your new website as a draft, and keep taking bookings on CampManager until it’s ready.
- Send your old web addresses to the new pages, and email guests with stays to come to say where their booking now lives.
Switching to PootlrHost goes through each step.
