Your site map
Draw your pitches and facilities on a map or your own site plan, so guests can pick their pitch when they book.
Updated
The site map shows where every pitch and facility is, drawn on a satellite view of your site or on your own site plan. Guests can use it to pick their pitch when they book, and it shows in their guest guide with their pitch picked out.
To use it, switch on Site map in Settings, under Features, then open Site map from the menu.
Draw your pitches
- Go to Site map.
- For each pitch type under Pitches, choose how to draw it: Each pitch (one shape for every pitch, so guests can pick a particular one) or Whole area (one shape for a field or area of that type).
- Use the shape tool at the top right of the map to draw: click each corner, then click the first corner again to finish.
- In Which pitch is this?, choose the pitch type and, for Each pitch, Which one. The next pitch you haven’t drawn yet is chosen for you. For an area of that type that isn’t one particular pitch, choose None, a general area for this type. Tap Save this area.
- When you’re done, tap Save map.
The list shows how many of each type are drawn, such as “3 of 8 drawn”. A general area is listed but isn’t counted as a pitch. Shapes can’t be reshaped once drawn: tap Remove and draw it again.
Add facilities
Tap Add a facility and choose one, such as Toilet Block, Water Point, Elsan Point or Reception. Choose A pin and tap the map, or An outline and draw around it. Remember to tap Save map.
Use your own site plan
Got a drawing of your site, like the one in your welcome pack? Under Your own site plan, tap Upload a site plan (a JPEG, PNG or WebP picture, up to 10 MB). Save any map changes first.
If you haven’t drawn anything yet, the map changes to your plan straight away, ready to draw on. Otherwise, choose Your site plan at the bottom of the map to switch to it. Guests see your drawing when they choose their pitch.
You can also switch the background between Google Satellite, Esri Satellite, Bing Aerial and OpenStreetMap.
What guests see
With Let guests pick their pitch ticked, guests see Pick your pitch on the site map when they choose a pitch (or Pick your place on the site map on a glamping site). They tap View the map, then tap a highlighted pitch. Booked pitches are greyed out. The pitch they pick is theirs if it’s still free when they finish booking.
In the guest guide, the Site map section shows the map with their pitch picked out.
Good to know
- Guests can pick a particular pitch only for types drawn with Each pitch. For a Whole area, they pick the area rather than a particular pitch.
- Removing your site plan while you’re using it removes the pitches and facilities drawn on it too, and the map goes back to the satellite photo.
- Uploading a new plan keeps your shapes where they were, so check they still sit in the right places.
- Only the site owner or a manager can change the map.
- See what guests see when they choose their pitch on our pick your pitch page.
