Airbnb sync: Keep Airbnb. Take bookings direct as well.
For glamping as much as pitches. Link each bell tent, hut, pod or pitch to its Airbnb listing by calendar link, so Airbnb bookings come into your calendar and Airbnb sees the nights you’ve sold elsewhere.
How it works with Airbnb.
Set up pitch by pitch on Other booking sites in your dashboard. Nothing changes for your guests.
Linked by calendar link
Airbnb shares a calendar (iCal) link for each listing in its calendar settings. Paste it into PootlrHost against the unit, and give Airbnb the PootlrHost link for that unit.
How often
PootlrHost reads Airbnb’s calendar every 15 minutes, or when you press Sync now. Airbnb reads PootlrHost’s on its own schedule, often every few hours.
What comes in
The dates, and the little Airbnb puts in its calendar, often just “Reserved”. Guest details stay in Airbnb.
Clashes flagged
Calendars don’t update instantly, so two sites can now and then sell the same night. If that happens, PootlrHost keeps both bookings, flags the clash on Today and emails you.
Your prices stay yours
Prices aren’t shared. Set them on Airbnb as you do now.
Nothing private goes out
The calendar PootlrHost gives Airbnb marks taken nights as Booked or Unavailable, with no guest names.
Setting up Airbnb.
Once for each listing. Nothing about your listing on Airbnb changes.
Switch it on
In Settings, under Features, switch on Other booking sites. Then open Other booking sites and choose Add a booking site, then Airbnb.
Link a unit
Choose the bell tent, hut, pod or pitch an Airbnb listing is for. Each listing is one place to stay, so link it to one unit.
Give Airbnb your calendar
Copy PootlrHost’s calendar link for that unit. In Airbnb, open Calendar, choose the listing, then Availability. Under Connect calendars, choose Connect to another website, paste the link and call it PootlrHost.
Bring Airbnb’s bookings in
Copy Airbnb’s calendar link for the listing (it ends in .ics) and paste it into PootlrHost as the calendar link from Airbnb. Save, and PootlrHost reads it straight away and tells you how many bookings came in.
If something isn’t right.
What you might see, and what to do about it.
- An Airbnb booking isn’t in my calendar yet
- PootlrHost reads Airbnb’s calendar every 15 minutes. Press Sync now to read it straight away.
- Airbnb still shows nights I’ve sold
- Airbnb reads PootlrHost’s calendar on its own schedule, often every few hours, and Sync now can’t hurry it. Check the PootlrHost link is connected to the right listing in Airbnb.
- It says the link doesn’t lead to a calendar
- You’ve copied the listing’s web page. Copy the calendar link from the listing’s Availability settings instead: it ends in .ics.
- It says the calendar doesn’t exist, or won’t let PootlrHost read it
- The link has changed on Airbnb’s side. Copy a fresh calendar link from Airbnb and paste it in with Change.
- Today shows a possible double booking
- Two sites sold the same night before their calendars caught up. PootlrHost has kept both bookings and emailed you: move one guest to another unit, or cancel one booking on the site it came from.
- A booking just says “Airbnb guest”
- Airbnb’s calendar shares the dates and little else. Guest details stay in Airbnb: add what you need to the booking yourself.

No. Keep your listing for the guests it brings, and take bookings on your own website alongside it.
Calendar links work one listing to one unit. A listing that sells several units at once doesn’t say which one is booked, so give each unit its own listing to link it.
