Pitchup sync: Keep Pitchup. Take bookings direct as well.
Connect PootlrHost to Pitchup with your API key. Pitchup tells PootlrHost about new, changed and cancelled bookings as they happen, so they’re in your calendar with the guest’s details within a couple of minutes. Pitchup hears straight away when a night is booked with you, and within about 15 minutes when one is booked on another site.
How it works with Pitchup.
Set up pitch by pitch on Other booking sites in your dashboard. Nothing changes for your guests.
Connect with your API key
It’s under Me › My details in Pitchup’s manager portal. Paste it into PootlrHost, then link each of your pitch types to its pitch type on Pitchup.
Pitchup bookings come in
Within a couple of minutes of being made, with the guest’s name, email, phone, party and any special requests, on a free pitch of the type it’s linked to. PootlrHost also checks with Pitchup every 15 minutes, or when you press Sync now.
Changes follow
New dates and cancellations made on Pitchup follow within a couple of minutes, and the booking’s activity shows what changed. Pitchup bookings are cancelled on Pitchup, which doesn’t let other systems cancel them: PootlrHost follows.
Pitchup kept up to date
When a guest books on your website, when you move or cancel one of your own bookings or close dates, and when a booking comes in from Airbnb or Hipcamp, PootlrHost updates your availability on Pitchup.
Pitchup handles its money
Guests pay Pitchup for Pitchup bookings, and Pitchup handles any refund. PootlrHost charges no fee on them.
No API key?
Link each pitch by its Pitchup calendar link instead, the same way as Airbnb or Hipcamp.
Your prices stay yours
PootlrHost doesn’t change your prices on Pitchup, or Pitchup yours. Set them on each as you do now.
Start from Pitchup
Setting up? Copy your pitch types from Pitchup instead of typing them in again.
Setting up Pitchup.
Once for each listing. Nothing about your listing on Pitchup changes.
Switch it on
In Settings, under Features, switch on Other booking sites. Then open Other booking sites and choose Add a booking site, then Pitchup.
Add your API key
Paste your Pitchup API key. It’s under Me › My details in Pitchup’s manager portal.
Link your pitch types
Choose Link a pitch, then one of your pitch types, or a single pitch, and the Pitchup pitch type it matches. Do the same for each pitch type you sell on Pitchup.
That’s it
Pitchup tells PootlrHost about new, changed and cancelled bookings as they happen, and PootlrHost keeps your availability on Pitchup up to date. Press Sync now to check everything straight away.
If something isn’t right.
What you might see, and what to do about it.
- A Pitchup booking isn’t in my calendar yet
- Pitchup sends each booking a minute or two after it’s made. If it still isn’t there, check its pitch type is linked to one of yours, then press Sync now.
- It says Pitchup didn’t accept your API key
- Check the key under Me › My details in Pitchup’s manager portal, then choose Change key on Other booking sites and paste it again.
- I need to cancel a Pitchup booking
- Cancel it on Pitchup: in its manager portal, open Bookings, click the flag next to the booking and choose Customer cancelled. PootlrHost marks it cancelled within a few minutes.
- Nights are closed on Pitchup that are free with you
- PootlrHost changes how many pitches Pitchup can sell on the nights Pitchup has open, but it can’t open nights Pitchup has closed. Open them in the Allocation tab of Pitchup’s manager portal.
- Today shows a possible double booking
- Two sites sold the same night before they caught up. PootlrHost has kept both bookings and emailed you: move one guest to another pitch, or cancel one booking on the site it came from.
Questions about Pitchup.
Anything else, get in touch and we’ll help.
No. Keep your listing for the new guests it brings, and take bookings on your own website alongside it.
In Pitchup’s manager portal, under Me › My details. If you can’t see one, ask Pitchup for it, or link each pitch by its calendar link in the meantime.
With the API key, Pitchup is told as soon as a night is booked with you, and within about 15 minutes of a booking on another site, so it’s rare. If it happens, PootlrHost keeps both bookings, flags the clash on Today and emails you.
No. Pitchup doesn’t let other systems cancel its bookings, and it has the guest’s money. Cancel it on Pitchup, and PootlrHost marks it cancelled within a few minutes.
