Booking.com sync: Keep Booking.com. Take bookings direct as well.
Link each room you sell on Booking.com to its pitch, hut or pod by calendar link. Booking.com bookings come into your calendar, and Booking.com sees the nights you’ve sold elsewhere.
How it works with Booking.com.
Set up pitch by pitch on Other booking sites in your dashboard. Nothing changes for your guests.
Linked by calendar link
Booking.com’s Sync calendars page shares a calendar (iCal) link for each room. Paste it into PootlrHost against the pitch, and give Booking.com the PootlrHost link for that pitch.
One room, one pitch
Booking.com only offers calendar links to properties with 20 room types or fewer and one unit in each. So each pitch, hut or pod you sell there is a room of its own, linked to one pitch in PootlrHost.
How often
PootlrHost reads Booking.com’s calendar every 15 minutes, or when you press Sync now. Booking.com says it reads other calendars every two hours.
What comes in
The dates. Booking.com’s calendar marks bookings and closed dates the same way, so each comes in as a “Booking.com guest” booking that holds the pitch. Guest details stay in Booking.com.
Clashes flagged
Calendars don’t update instantly, so two sites can now and then sell the same night. If that happens, PootlrHost keeps both bookings, flags the clash on Today and emails you.
Your prices stay yours
Prices aren’t shared. Set them on Booking.com as you do now.
Nothing private goes out
The calendar PootlrHost gives Booking.com marks taken nights as Booked or Unavailable, with no guest names.
Setting up Booking.com.
Once for each listing. Nothing about your listing on Booking.com changes.
Switch it on
In Settings, under Features, switch on Other booking sites. Then open Other booking sites and choose Add a booking site, then Booking.com.
Link a room
Choose Link a pitch, then the pitch, hut or pod a Booking.com room is for. Each room links to one.
Give Booking.com your calendar
Copy PootlrHost’s calendar link for that pitch. In the Booking.com extranet, open Rates & Availability, then Sync calendars. Find the room, choose Add calendar connection, paste the link, call it PootlrHost and choose Next step.
Bring Booking.com’s bookings in
Carry on to export, and copy Booking.com’s calendar link for the room with Copy link. If it asks what to export, choose booked dates only. Paste it into PootlrHost as the calendar link from Booking.com and save: PootlrHost reads it straight away and tells you how many bookings came in.
If something isn’t right.
What you might see, and what to do about it.
- There’s no Sync calendars in my extranet
- Booking.com only offers it to properties with 20 room types or fewer, one unit in each, that don’t use a connectivity provider. Give each pitch its own room type, or ask Booking.com about your property.
- A Booking.com booking isn’t in my calendar yet
- PootlrHost reads Booking.com’s calendar every 15 minutes. Press Sync now to read it straight away.
- Booking.com still shows nights I’ve sold
- Booking.com reads PootlrHost’s calendar every two hours, and Sync now can’t hurry it. On Booking.com’s Sync calendars page, Import now reads it straight away. Check the connection says Okay, not Export only.
- It says the link doesn’t lead to a calendar
- You’ve copied a web page. Copy the link with Copy link on Booking.com’s Sync calendars page instead: it has /ical/ in it.
- Booking.com shows a Service error
- It can’t read the PootlrHost link. Copy it again from Other booking sites, paste it in whole, and check it’s on the right room.
- A booking just says “Booking.com guest”
- Booking.com’s calendar shares the dates and nothing else, and dates you’ve closed on Booking.com look the same as bookings. Guest details stay in Booking.com: add what you need to the booking yourself.
- Today shows a possible double booking
- Two sites sold the same night before their calendars caught up. PootlrHost has kept both bookings and emailed you: move one guest to another pitch, or cancel one booking on the site it came from.
Questions about Booking.com.
Anything else, get in touch and we’ll help.
No. Keep your listing for the guests it brings, and take bookings on your own website alongside it.
No. It links by calendar link only, so dates move between them, but prices, payments and guest details don’t. If Booking.com doesn’t offer your property calendar links, PootlrHost can’t link to it.
Not as it is. Booking.com only offers calendar links when each room type has one unit, so give each pitch its own room type on Booking.com, up to 20 of them.
PootlrHost reads Booking.com’s calendar every 15 minutes. Press Sync now on Other booking sites to read it straight away.
