Closing dates
Block dates for one pitch, a pitch type or your whole site so guests can’t book them.
Updated
Close dates when you can’t take guests: a drainage job, a family wedding or the weeks you’re shut for winter. You can close one pitch, a whole pitch type or your whole site, for one night or many.
Close dates from the bookings calendar
This is the most flexible way: you can close one pitch, a pitch type or your whole site.
- Go to Bookings › Calendar and tap Block dates.
- Under Which pitches?, choose One pitch, Pitch type or Whole site, then pick the pitch or pitch type.
- Choose the First night and Last night you’re closed. You’ll see how many nights that is and when you open again.
- Add a Reason (optional), like “Drainage work”. It shows on your calendar.
- Tap Block dates.
If guests are booked inside those dates, you’re shown who first. Tap Block anyway to go ahead: they keep their bookings, and the block stops new ones.
To open the dates again, tap the blocked bar on the calendar and tap Remove block.
Close dates from the price calendar
- Go to Pitches & pricing › Calendar and pick the pitch type under Prices for.
- Tap the first day, then the last day.
- Tap Close to bookings. Every pitch of that type is closed for those nights.
If guests are booked inside those dates, you’re shown who first, and nothing is closed until you tap Block anyway. They keep their bookings.
Closed days are shaded and marked “Closed”. To open them, select them again and tap Reopen for bookings. Only those days reopen, even if the closure ran longer.
What happens
- Guests can’t book closed nights on your website, booking page or widget.
- Closed nights go out on your calendar links as unavailable, and if you’re connected to Pitchup, Pitchup is told.
- Bookings already in those dates stay as they are. Move or cancel them yourself if you need to.
Closing a pitch for longer
To take one pitch out of use with no end date, go to Pitches & pricing › Pitches, tap the pitch and switch off Open for bookings. See Pitches and pitch types. To stop all bookings for a while, pause your site: see Booking rules.
Good to know
- A block can be up to 365 nights. Add another for longer.
- You can’t close dates in the past.
- Closing dates needs permission to manage bookings. See Your team and what they can do.
