Extras

Offer add-ons like dogs, awnings, extra cars or firewood, charged per night or once per stay.

Updated

Extras are things guests can pay for on top of their pitch when they book, like a dog, an awning, an extra car or a bag of firewood.

Add an extra

  1. Go to Pitches & pricing › Price list and scroll down to Extras.
  2. Tap Add an extra.
  3. Give it a Name and a Price. Enter 0 if it’s free but you’d like to know about it.
  4. Set Most per booking, the most a guest can add.
  5. Under How is it charged?, choose Each night, like a dog or Once per stay, like a bag of firewood.
  6. Under Who can add it?, choose Every pitch type or Only some pitch types and tick the ones it’s for.
  7. Tap Add extra.

Each extra then shows in the list as a line like “Dog: £2 a night, up to 2 per booking”. Tap its name to change it, or to delete it with Delete this extra.

What guests see

When you have extras, the booking window adds an Extras step after guests pick their pitch. They choose how many of each, up to your limit, and see the cost added to their total. An extra charged each night is multiplied by the number of nights.

If an extra is only for some pitch types, guests only see it with those. If a guest changes their pitch and an extra they’d added isn’t offered there, it’s taken off and they’re told.

Dogs

An extra called “Dog” or “Dogs” (any name with the word dog in it) counts as the dogs coming. Guests can’t add more than the pitch type’s dog limit, and on a pitch type that takes no dogs it isn’t offered at all. Set dog limits on the Pitches tab, under Who can stay on each pitch.

Good to know

  • Bookings already made keep the price their extras were booked at.
  • Offers and promo codes come off the nightly price, not extras.
  • Extras are chosen by guests when they book online. There’s no place to add extras to a booking you add yourself.
  • If you delete the only pitch type an extra is for, the extra is switched off and shows as “switched off: not offered on any pitch type”. Choose pitch types for it again to bring it back.
  • To charge for extra people rather than things, use per-person prices: see Prices and seasons.
