Smart pricing

Let prices rise when you’re nearly full and drop on quiet dates, automatically or as suggestions you approve.

Updated

Smart pricing moves a pitch type’s prices with demand: a little more when you’re nearly full, a little less for quiet dates and the odd night stuck between bookings. It can change prices by itself, or suggest changes for you to approve.

Set it up

  1. Switch on Smart pricing in Settings › Features. It’s off until you do.
  2. Go to Pitches & pricing › Price list. Under Smart pricing, each pitch type shows whether it’s on. Tap Set up (or Change once it’s on).
  3. On the pitch type’s Pricing tab, switch on Let prices move with demand.
  4. Under What should it do?, choose Change prices for me or Suggest prices for me to approve.
  5. Check the rules below, which start with sensible steps filled in, then tap Save smart pricing.

Each pitch type is set up on its own. Once saved, a Price preview shows the month with the normal and the new price on each day.

The rules

  • When you’re busy or quiet: steps like “when up to 30% full, change price by −10%” and “when up to 100% full, +25%”. How full means how many of that pitch type’s pitches are booked or closed that night.
  • Last-minute prices: for dates coming up soon, such as 14 days before, if under 40% full, −20%.
  • Fill gaps between bookings: a discount for a short gap between two bookings, up to the Longest gap (nights) you set.
  • Never go below (£) and Never go above (£): limits the price stays within. Leave them blank for none.

The changes that apply on a night are added together and worked out from your price list price for that night, weekend extras included. Smart pricing never takes more than 90% off.

Approving suggestions

With Suggest prices for me to approve, nothing changes until you say so. Suggestions are made once a day for the next 90 days. Find them under Suggested prices to review on the Price list or the pitch type’s Pricing tab, then tap Approve or Dismiss, or tick several and tap Approve selected. An approved price is what guests pay that night.

Good to know

  • A price you set on the calendar, or an event price, is never changed by smart pricing.
  • Switch the feature off and prices go back to your price list. Each pitch type keeps its settings for when you switch it back on.
  • Bookings already made keep their price.
  • More on the price list: Prices and seasons. Switching features: Switching features on and off.
