Switching features on and off

Choose which optional parts of PootlrHost you use, and what happens when you switch one off.

Updated

PootlrHost has optional parts, like events, a site map or text messages. Switch on the ones you use and leave the rest off, so your dashboard stays simple. You first choose them during setup, and you can change them at any time.

Changing your features

  1. Go to Settings › Features.
  2. Tap the switch beside a feature to turn it On or Off.

Each switch saves straight away, and you’ll see a note like “Switched on: Site map”. The owner or a manager can change them.

What you can switch

The switches are grouped like this:

  • Taking bookings: Group bookings, Events and tickets, Site map, Other booking sites.
  • Prices and offers: Offers and promo codes, Loyalty rewards, Smart pricing.
  • Looking after guests: Guest guide, Text messages, Guest reviews, Contact form on your website.
  • Reports: Insights.
  • Everything else: Waiting list, Seasonal pitches.

Each has a line saying what it does. Bookings, your calendar, guests, your website, messages and payments are always there and can’t be switched off.

What happens when you switch one off

It disappears from your dashboard menu, your website and guest emails. For example, with Offers and promo codes off, no promo code is taken and no offer applies. With Text messages off, no texts go to guests.

Nothing is deleted. Switch it back on and everything is as you left it, like your events, your map or your loyalty rewards.

If you open a page for a feature that’s off, perhaps from an old link, you’re taken to Today with a note saying it’s switched off and where to switch it back on.

Which are on to start with

For a new site, Offers and promo codes, Guest reviews, Guest guide, Insights, Contact form on your website and Waiting list start switched on. The rest start off, unless your site is already using them.

Good to know

  • Switching off Insights hides its tips, questions and weekly email. Reports and your accounting files stay in the menu.
  • Once Group bookings is on, tap Choose what groups can book under its switch to set it up. See Group bookings.
  • Each site has its own choices. If you run more than one, switching a feature off on one doesn’t change the others. See Running more than one site.
  • To find out more about a feature, see its own article, like Site map, Events or Waiting list.
